LONDON, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- The source of the River Thames has dried up further downstream amid drought and high temperatures. Officially, the River Thames originates from the town of Cirencester in England's Cotswolds. Now the river bed stretches for miles from its source with bare soil and puddles. A drought was officially declared on Aug. 12 across a large swathe of England, amid a new heatwave and prolonged dry weather. More restrictions are likely to be placed on water use in affected areas.
