BERLIN, April 26 (Xinhua) -- A "media day" kicked off "with great optimism" the 30th edition of the international aviation trade show AERO in Friedrichshafen, southern Germany, on Tuesday.
The show will run between April 27 and April 30.
The 633 exhibitors from over 30 countries will "show how they are taking on the current challenges in the industry and how they are shaping the future," a press release said.
"The development of quiet and environmentally friendly electric and hybrid-electric aircraft is progressing ever more rapidly," it said.
Among the latest solutions, the organizers singled out the F2, the newest aircraft from German manufacturer Flight Design general aviation. The plane was already certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) back in December 2021.
Another example was the electrically powered, vertical take-off and landing aircraft eMagic One produced by German company eMagic Aircraft, which was presented to the public for the first time in November last year. "It impresses with its very low weight and its unique aerodynamic design," the release said. ■
