TIRANA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Albania's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.54 percent in 2021, the country's National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said on Thursday.
In the fourth quarter (Q4) of last year alone, the country's economy expanded by 5.52 percent year-on-year and by 0.17 percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
The sectors with the largest contribution to Albania's economic growth in Q4 2021 were construction, trade, transport, accommodation and food services, real estate activity, agriculture, forestry and fishing.
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Albania's GDP decreased by 3.48 percent. ■
