KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Flooding displaced over 1,300 people in Malaysia on Friday, with the hardest-hit area being the state of Selangor, according to authorities.

Selangor, which has seen continuous heavy rains over several days, recorded 1,174 flood evacuees housed in 12 flood relief centers, according to the country's social welfare department.

The remaining evacuees were spread across Perak, Kedah and the northern Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of continuous heavy rains and strong winds due to the Northeast Monsoon season, which is expected to last until March 2027. ■
