KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Global technology firm Microsoft is expanding its cloud infrastructure in Malaysia with a new cloud region in Johor Bahru, as it seeks to meet growing demand for cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) services across the region.
The investment is aimed at supporting the adoption of AI technologies across Southeast Asia, expanding access to cloud services and strengthening Malaysia's position in the regional digital economy, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Once operational, the new cloud region will offer Microsoft's range of cloud services, supporting advanced computing workloads and the evolving technology requirements of businesses and organizations across the region.
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced the general availability of its new Malaysia West cloud region in Greater Kuala Lumpur, empowering organizations in Malaysia to accelerate their AI journey. ■
