ISLAMABAD, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Tuesday successfully conducted the flight test of its first indigenously developed air-to-air missile, according to the military's media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the missile is equipped with a state-of-the-art terminal guidance system and is capable of engaging aerial targets at longer ranges.
The development of the missile will enhance the operational flexibility of the Pakistan Air Force and further strengthen the country's overall defense posture, the statement said.
The successful flight test demonstrated the technical maturity, innovation and self-reliance achieved by Pakistan's defense industry, it added.
The test was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan armed forces, as well as scientists and engineers. ■
