HANOI, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's total import-export turnover reached an estimated 1.01 trillion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of 2026, up 32.3 percent year on year, the Voice of Vietnam reported Sunday.
Exports totaled approximately 499 billion dollars during the period, rising 27.4 percent from a year earlier. Processed and manufactured industrial products accounted for 87.4 percent of total export value, the report said, citing the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In October alone, the country's trade turnover reached 122.2 billion dollars, up 47.6 percent year on year, with a trade surplus of 6.8 billion dollars, narrowing the cumulative trade deficit for the 10-month span to about 12.7 billion dollars, the report added.
The ministry is drafting a new import-export strategy through 2030, with a vision to 2045, aiming to raise the share of domestic enterprises in national exports up to 30 percent by 2030 and up to 40 percent by 2045. ■
