ASTANA, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan will allocate approximately 6.5 trillion tenge (over 14 billion U.S. dollars) from its National Fund by the end of 2029 to modernize social, transport and engineering infrastructure, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Wednesday.

In his annual state-of-the-nation address, Tokayev also instructed the government to earmark 1.5 trillion tenge to launch social projects this year and in the first two months of 2027, the official Kazinform news agency reported.

Citing the International Monetary Fund's forecast, Tokayev said Kazakhstan's GDP is expected to approach 400 billion dollars this year, while GDP per capita would exceed 19,000 dollars.

Tokayev also called for establishing a state strategic uranium reserve to ensure long-term supplies of nuclear fuel and instructed the government to raise the minimum monthly wage from 85,000 to 110,000 tenge starting Jan. 1, 2027. (1 U.S. dollar equals approximately 455.63 Kazakhstani tenge) ■
