ISLAMABAD, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and seven others injured Tuesday after the roof of a building collapsed in Multan city in Pakistan's Punjab province, rescue officials said.
The incident happened after the roof of an under-construction plaza collapsed, trapping more than a dozen people under the rubble, according to the Rescue 1122 emergency service.
The injured were transported to Nishtar Hospital in the city, the rescue service said.
A spokesperson for Nishtar Hospital confirmed that one person was brought to the hospital dead.
Local authorities are continuing to clear the debris and search the area. ■
