MANILA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine peso continued to depreciate, closing at a new record low of 63.95 pesos per U.S. dollar on Monday, according to the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
The close marked the 32nd time this year that the currency ended at an all-time low.
A weaker peso raises the cost of dollar-priced imports such as fuel, adding on pressures of inflation, and risks cost of servicing foreign-currency obligations. ■
