KABUL, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Afghan counter-narcotics police seized 16 kg of hashish and arrested a suspected drug trafficker in the northern Baghlan province on Sunday, provincial deputy counter-narcotics police director Rohullah Fazalyar said Monday.
The suspect was attempting to transport the illicit drugs to an undisclosed destination when police intercepted his car outside the provincial capital, Pul-e-Khumri, and recovered the contraband, the official said.
The suspect would be handed over to the judiciary after the completion of a preliminary investigation, he added. ■
