BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Near East Coast of Honshu, Japan at 1607 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 39 km, was initially determined to be at 40.38 degrees north latitude and 142.80 degrees east longitude. ■
