KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore-founded neocloud provider Aolani has signed letters of intent to take up 500 megawatts (MW) of artificial intelligence (AI) data center capacity in Malaysia, with operations targeted to begin in the second half of 2027.
The capacity will be spread across multiple sites designed to Tier III standards and equipped with purpose-built AI data centers to support Aolani's expanding AI infrastructure and graphics processing unit (GPU) deployments, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Aolani plans to provide the AI infrastructure, GPU deployment and operational requirements for the facilities upon completion.
The latest commitment would bring its planned capacity in Malaysia to as much as 580MW by 2027, up from about 80MW committed in 2026.
The expanded capacity will serve global hyperscalers and AI-native companies, while supporting local demand for computing power. ■
