HANOI, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese citizens travelling in groups of at least two can visit Vietnam's central province of Khanh Hoa without visas under a pilot scheme effective from Monday through the end of 2027, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.

Under the government's resolution issued on Monday, eligible tourists must arrive directly from the Chinese mainland through the province's Cam Ranh International Airport, and book all-inclusive tours organized by Vietnamese international travel companies, with stays limited to 30 days, the report said.

Visitors must enter and exit via Cam Ranh airport, and their travel is restricted solely to Khanh Hoa province.

The scheme, introduced under the Vietnam-China tourism cooperation year for 2026-2027, applies to holders of valid ordinary Chinese passports, excluding those issued in Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.

Vietnam welcomed 17.7 million international tourist arrivals during January-September, a year-on-year increase of 14.5 percent. China was the largest source market during the period, official data showed. ■
