ALMATY, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's economy grew by 4.2 percent in the first nine months of 2026, driven largely by growth in the non-resource sector, authorities said Tuesday.
The non-resource sector expanded by 5.4 percent, Serik Zhumangarin, Kyrgyz deputy prime minister and minister of national economy, was quoted by the Kazinform news agency as saying.
Construction, manufacturing, transport services and trade recorded the highest growth, collectively contributing over 75 percent to overall gross domestic product (GDP) growth, Zhumangarin said.
Oil production declined by 8.3 percent to 69.4 million tons in the same period, while the national currency appreciation has put pressure on revenues from export-oriented industries and the state budget, and slowing consumer lending has dampened domestic demand, the deputy prime minister added. ■
