JAKARTA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian authorities have procured 4.11 million tonnes of rice from local farmers as of Oct. 8, surpassing the government's full-year target of 4 million tonnes, state-owned logistics company Bulog said Friday.
Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the absorption reached 102 percent of the government-mandated target for 2026.
Rizal said this year's procurement surpassed the 3.19 million tonnes achieved in 2025 and broke Bulog's previous historical record of 3.65 million tonnes recorded in 2012.
Rizal said Bulog will continue optimizing procurement instruments by strengthening purchasing networks at production bases and upgrading storage facilities to better support purchases during harvest seasons and stabilize grain prices for farmers. ■
