KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia and Myanmar have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations by focusing on people-centric cooperation, including trade, investment, education, agri-food, energy, healthcare and capacity building, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Thursday.

Both countries committed to enhancing collaboration while taking into account issues that need to be addressed, Anwar said in a joint press conference with Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a two-day official visit, in the administrative capital Putrajaya following a series of meetings with officials from both countries.

Hailing the long-standing relations between the two countries, Anwar said that Malaysia's interest is to enhance bilateral collaboration.

For his part, Min Aung Hlaing said that Myanmar is actively cooperating with Malaysia to create a secure and safe regional environment free from drugs and online scams. ■
