JAKARTA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's army has dismantled an alleged online gambling operation at a military housing complex in Jakarta, arresting 11 civilians, the army said Thursday.
Brigadier General Donny Pramono, head of the army's information service, said soldiers and local authorities raided a house in a complex on Oct. 4 following reports of suspicious activity.
The raid uncovered dozens of computers in several rooms suspected of being used to operate an online gambling system. The 11 suspects, including six men and five women, were taken to a military police unit for questioning.
Online gambling is illegal in Indonesia, where authorities have continued to crack down on gambling networks. ■
