ISLAMABAD, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan Navy seized narcotics worth approximately 96 million U.S. dollars during two counter-narcotics operations in the Arabian Sea, the military said Wednesday.
Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK, deployed in the Arabian Sea, intercepted two dhows at extended range from the Pakistani coast during the operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in a statement.
The operations resulted in the recovery of approximately 850 kg of ice and 2,000 kg of hashish/cannabis from concealed compartments inside the vessels, the statement said.
The seized narcotics were taken into custody and will subsequently be handed over to relevant authorities for disposal and legal proceedings, it added. ■
