ISLAMABAD, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Five government officials were killed in two separate attacks in Pakistan's northwestern Dera Ismail Khan district on Tuesday, police and officials said.
Four Federal Board of Revenue officials were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire on them near Qureshi Mor, while a highway traffic police official was killed and another injured in a separate attack near Mufti Mahmood Chowk bypass, according to police.
The assailants fled after the attacks, and police launched search operations in the areas, officials said.
Pakistani leaders expressed concern over the attacks and condemned the killings, saying security forces' operations against terrorist elements would continue until terrorism was eliminated. ■
