KABUL, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Police in charge of counter-narcotics have destroyed more than 3,000 acres of hashish farms in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province over the past two weeks, the provincial police office said in a statement on Monday.
A total of 3,361 acres of hashish farms have been destroyed across Badakhshan during an anti-drug campaign over the past two weeks, the statement said.
The statement also warned that stern action would be taken against anyone who violates the law by cultivating poppy, hashish or other illegal crops used in the manufacture of illicit drugs. ■
