VIENTIANE, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Laos produced 2.33 million tons of food crops in the first nine months of 2026, reaching 90 percent of the annual target as the government stepped up efforts to boost domestic production, reduce imports and promote exports.
In the first nine months of 2026, Laos' agricultural and forestry product exports reached 1.389 billion U.S. dollars, or 73.17 percent of the annual target, according to the local Pasaxon newspaper report on Monday.
However, agricultural production continued to face challenges from flooding and other natural disasters, said the report. ■
