YANGON, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Ten people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Myanmar's Sagaing region on Monday, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.
The accident occurred around 10:40 a.m. local time on the Monywa-Mandalay road near Kyaukse and Kone villages in Sagaing township, when two vehicles collided after their drivers apparently lost control of the vehicles, the department said.
The deceased included two men and eight women, while three women sustained injuries, according to the department.
Local fire services personnel and rescue workers conducted the rescue operation. A fire engine and ambulances were dispatched to the accident site, it said.
The injured were transported to a hospital in Sagaing for medical treatment, the department said. ■
