KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's net capital stock (NKS), which measures the value of fixed assets, rose 4.2 percent year on year to 3.7 trillion ringgit (910 billion U.S. dollars) in 2025, driven mainly by the services and manufacturing sectors, official data showed on Thursday.
The services sector accounted for 70 percent of total NKS at 2.6 trillion ringgit, up 4.9 percent from 4.5 percent growth in 2024, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement.
The manufacturing sector contributed 12.1 percent of total NKS, rising 5.5 percent to 451.4 billion ringgit from 4.8 percent in 2024.
Productive capital stock, which measures the fixed assets that remain operational and contribute to the economic output, rose 4.1 percent to 5 trillion ringgit.
Gross capital stock amounted to 6 trillion ringgit in 2025. (1 ringgit equals 0.24 U.S. dollars) ■
