NEW DELHI, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves fell by 18.343 billion U.S. dollars to 747.557 billion U.S. dollars during the week ended Sept. 25, the country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), said Friday.
This was the third consecutive week the forex reserves fell. During the preceding week, they had fallen by over 14.8 billion U.S. dollars.
According to the RBI data, the foreign currency assets dropped by 15.57 billion U.S. dollars to 615.411 billion U.S. dollars, while the gold reserves fell by 2.591 billion U.S. dollars to 108.701 billion U.S. dollars and the special drawing rights decreased by 97 million U.S. dollars to 18.642 billion U.S. dollars.
Meanwhile, India's position in the International Monetary Fund was also weakened by 86 million U.S. dollars, to 4.804 billion U.S. dollars. ■
