KABUL, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Ten health centers have been inaugurated in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province through a partnership with the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund, the provincial government office announced on Thursday.
Constructed at a cost exceeding 850,000 U.S. dollars, the facilities are now fully operational, ready to deliver essential medical services to local communities, the office said in a statement.
Each center provides a comprehensive suite of care, including outpatient consultations, maternal and child health services, nutritional support, mental health assistance, routine vaccinations, and emergency treatment, it added.
The initiative forms a key component of Afghanistan's national strategy to establish at least one healthcare facility in every district, aimed at strengthening the country's public health infrastructure after decades of conflict and instability. ■
