HANOI, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 300 stocks listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) will move to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) on Dec. 28, local news outlet VnExpress reported Thursday.

The stocks will have their final trading session on HNX on Dec. 23 and be suspended from trading on Dec. 24-25 to facilitate the transfer, the report said, citing the Vietnam Exchange, the state-owned holding company that owns both bourses.

The transfer is part of a restructuring aimed at clarifying the functions of the two exchanges, with HoSE handling stocks, fund certificates and covered warrants, and HNX focusing on bonds, derivatives, unlisted stocks and carbon credits.

It will change only the venue where stocks are traded and will not directly affect investors' holdings, the report added. ■
