KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was hospitalized for observation on Tuesday.
Mahathir's condition is stable and the decision to admit the 101-year-old was made to allow for monitoring following the passing of his wife, Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, Mahathir's son Mokhzani Mahathir told Bernama on Wednesday.
Siti Hasmah passed away at the National Heart Institute at the age of 100 on Monday morning and was laid to rest with a state funeral on the same day. ■
