SYDNEY, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Australia's New South Wales (NSW) Minister for Climate Change, Energy, Heritage and the Environment Penny Sharpe highlighted the contribution of Chinese business and technology to the state's energy transition.
Addressing a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China held by the Consulate-General of China in Sydney on Monday, the minister said NSW could not undertake its energy transition without China.
Sharpe said the significant, long-standing relationship between NSW and China is rooted in the state's strong trade and investment ties with China, one of NSW's largest export destinations.
In his remarks, Chinese Consul General in Sydney Wang Yu noted that the achievements of Chinese modernization have created opportunities for the world, while the positive progress in China-Australia relations has benefited both peoples.
China's "new tech trio" of artificial intelligence, robotics and innovative pharmaceuticals is seeing strong export growth, and China has also remained the world's second-largest import market for 17 consecutive years, he said.
"This creates opportunities for countries around the world to develop together," Wang added. ■
