HANOI, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam aims to have 10 higher education institutions ranked among Asia's top 200 and two among the world's top 100 by field of study by 2035, the Vietnam News Agency reported Monday.
The target was outlined in a government decision issued last Friday approving the higher education development strategy for 2026-2035, with a vision to 2045.
The country aims to have 100 percent of its higher education institutions meet quality standards by 2035, while the higher education participation rate among people aged 18-22 is expected to reach 45 percent.
By 2045, Vietnam's higher education system is envisioned to reach an advanced level in Asia, with several elite universities attaining world-class status and a number of science and technology fields becoming internationally competitive, according to the report. ■
