Cultural performance to celebrate 35th anniversary of China-Brunei ties held in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- A cultural performance by the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe in cooperation with disabled artists from Brunei was held here on Friday to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei.

The special performance, titled "My Dream," was highlighted by a sign language poem presentation, dances, singing, and musical instrument presentations.

In his address at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Chen Shaochun said China is ready to work with Brunei to uphold the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, consolidate high-level strategic mutual trust, deepen friendly cooperation in various fields, and jointly build a China-Brunei community with a shared future.

The event was attended by Pengiran Shamhary Pengiran Haji Mustapha, Brunei's minister of culture, youth and sports, as well as Mohd Riza Haji Mohd Yunos, minister of transport and infocommunications, and more than 400 guests from various sectors of Brunei.

Mohammad Firdaus bin Abdul Rahman, president of the Brunei-China Friendship Association, said the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe's visit to Brunei after more than two decades helps to build a bridge between the two peoples through art and reflects the enduring friendship between the two countries.

According to the China Intercontinental Communication Center, the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe will also visit schools and communities for friendly cultural exchange activities to promote people-to-people friendship.
