KATHMANDU, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah is set to leave for New York on Sept. 22, leading the Nepali delegation to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.

It will be Shah's first foreign trip since he assumed office on March 27, as he travels to New York, where he will participate in the high-level week of the 81st Session of the UNGA, local media reported.

The prime minister's visit comes as Nepal seeks greater international attention and support following the devastating mudslide on Aug. 26, which caused extensive loss of life and damage to infrastructure.
