MANILA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and eight others injured in a school shooting in southern Philippines on Friday, with four of the injured in critical condition, according to local media reports.
Local officials said all victims killed in the shooting are minors aged between 14 and 17.
According to the initial investigation, the suspect, 16, is believed to be one of the fatalities, who turned the gun on himself. The incident happened around 1 p.m.
All classes were immediately suspended at all levels in the municipality of Banga, South Cotabato Province, where the incident happened, according to the local disaster risk reduction and management office.
The Department of Education expressed deep concern over the reported shooting incident. ■
