JAKARTA, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- A landslide in Indonesia's Aceh province killed one person and injured 13 others, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said Monday.
BNPB spokesperson Berton Panjaitan said the landslide occurred at around 6:15 p.m. local time on Sunday after heavy rains hit Central Aceh regency, affecting seven villages.
The landslide also blocked several roads, while two houses were severely damaged and two others sustained moderate damage.
Authorities deployed a wheel loader and an excavator to clear debris and restore road access.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant for possible further landslides, particularly during periods of heavy or prolonged rainfall. ■
