TOKYO, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Three people were injured after an explosion occurred at a metal processing factory in Ota Ward, Tokyo, on Monday, local media reported.
According to Japan's TV Asahi, local residents called police at around 9 a.m. local time, reporting the sound of an explosion near the factory.
Police said the explosion broke out at a metal processing factory that produces iron pipes and other products. Three male workers sustained minor injuries.
The Tokyo Fire Department and other authorities are checking for gas leaks around the factory. ■
