NEW DELHI, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves increased by 44.903 billion U.S. dollars to 785.706 billion dollars during the week ended Sept. 4, showed the weekly bulletin released by the country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday.
This was one of the biggest jumps in India's forex reserves so far, even as the total reserves reached a new record high. The country's forex reserves had increased continuously for the past several weeks.
According to the RBI data, the Foreign Currency Assets (FCAs) rose by 47.498 billion dollars to 648.168 billion dollars, while the Gold Reserves fell by 2.594 billion dollars to 113.816 billion dollars.
The Special Drawing Rights fell by 4 million dollars to 18.806 billion dollars, and the country's Position in the International Monetary Fund improved by 2 million dollars to 4.916 billion dollars. ■
