ISLAMABAD, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan strongly supports China's Global Governance Initiative (GGI) and stands ready to work with China and other countries to advance its implementation, Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said Thursday.

At a weekly briefing, Khan said the initiative promotes justice, equity and inclusion, with the United Nations at the core of multilateralism.

Since its launch last September, Pakistan has been at the forefront of supporting the initiative, describing it as a "global public good" aimed at promoting justice, equity and inclusion in international relations, he said.

Nearly 160 countries and international organizations have expressed support for the initiative, while more than 60 countries have joined the Group of Friends of Global Governance, Khan said.

The International Organization for Mediation has begun official operations, while the World Data Organization and the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization have also been established, he said.

These developments demonstrate the strong vitality and appeal of the GGI and provide robust support for international peace, harmony and development, Khan said.

"Pakistan has always supported and actively implemented the GGI," he said, adding that Pakistan stands ready to work with China and other countries to make deeper and more substantive advances in implementing the initiative.
