TOKYO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- A fighter jet operated by Japan's Self-Defense Forces (SDF) made an emergency landing on Thursday at Naha Airport in the southern island prefecture of Okinawa, with no immediate reports of injuries, local media reported.
The F-15 fighter jet developed a hydraulic system problem while in flight and landed at around 6:05 p.m. local time, leading to the temporary closure of one of the two runways at the airport, Kyodo News reported, citing the SDF.
The affected runway was closed for about an hour from around 7:15 p.m. local time, with civilian aircraft using the other runway for takeoffs and landings, the report said.
Last month, another F-15 fighter jet became immobilized at the same airport. ■
