NEW DELHI, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- All 15 workers trapped beneath debris following a structural collapse at an under-construction building in the western Indian state of Gujarat have been rescued safely, state-run broadcaster All India Radio said Thursday.
The building collapsed on Wednesday night in the Kudasan area of Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat.
According to officials, a portion of a slab suddenly gave way, trapping workers beneath the debris. Local authorities, police and fire brigade teams immediately launched a rescue operation.
Rescuers worked through the night to clear the rubble and ensure no other victims remained trapped.
Police have registered a formal case and ordered an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collapse. ■
