KABUL, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- In a decisive intelligence-led operation, Afghan security forces have seized a cache of firearms and ammunition in the eastern province of Logar, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported on Thursday.
Acting on precise intelligence reports and a credible tip-off, personnel conducted a targeted search that uncovered five AKS-74U assault rifles, four M4 carbines, five AK-47 rifles, a quantity of ammunition, and assorted military equipment, said the report.
Authorities confirmed that the weapons were being illicitly transported from neighboring Khost province toward Ghazni. One individual was arrested in connection with the interception, it added. ■
