SYDNEY, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was shot in the hand and torso north of Sydney on Wednesday morning.
Police in the state of New South Wales said that emergency services were called to reports of a shooting in the Central Coast region, 60 km north of Sydney, around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his hand and torso.
He was treated by ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation has commenced, with police searching for the driver of a vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. ■
