SYDNEY, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- A woman has died after being pulled from the water at Bondi Beach in Sydney's eastern suburbs early Sunday morning, according to New South Wales (NSW) Police.
Emergency services were called to Bondi Beach shortly after 12:20 a.m. local time following reports that a woman was unresponsive in the water.
Officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command removed the woman from the water and immediately performed CPR.
However, the woman could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the woman had not yet been formally identified.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, with a report to be prepared for the NSW Coroner. ■
