Afghanistan holds exhibition on distinctive handicrafts, cultural heritage

KABUL, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition highlighting the distinctive handicrafts and rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan's Kazakh community opened in Mazar-i-Sharif, capital of northern Balkh province, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported late Friday.

The display presents dozens of traditional artisan works, cultural and artistic creations, authentic attire and historical symbols that embody the community's enduring identity.

The director of the information directorate at the Balkh Department of Information and Culture described such initiatives as vital to the preservation, promotion and wider appreciation of the nation's diverse historical and cultural legacies.

He affirmed that authorities remain committed to supporting cultural and artistic endeavors that safeguard citizens' historical identity, and pledged to expand opportunities for greater cultural participation, the presentation of heritage artifacts and the advancement of artistic expression among Afghanistan's Kazakh population.
