SINGAPORE, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) entered the unhealthy range at 7 a.m. local time on Friday, reaching 101 in the central region, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said.
This marked the first time the PSI had reached the unhealthy range due to haze since Oct. 8, 2023, the agency said in a statement.
It also said government agencies under the Haze Task Force have activated their respective action plans and issued advisories to safeguard public health and well-being.
The NEA will also begin issuing daily haze advisories from Friday evening, including a 24-hour PSI forecast to help the public plan activities and events for the following day. ■
