PHNOM PENH, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The second meeting of the China-Cambodia public-private sector dialogue mechanism was held in Phnom Penh on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin, and more than 70 officials from over 20 Cambodian ministries and representatives from over 70 Chinese-funded enterprises.

In his speech, Chanthol noted that since the first meeting in February this year, Cambodia has attached great importance to the needs of Chinese-funded enterprises operating in the country, and most issues have been properly resolved.

He added that Cambodia will firmly promote business environment reforms, severely crack down on telecommunications and online scams, and ensure the safety of investors and tourists. Furthermore, the government aims to advance the implementation of agreed-upon matters to attract more high-quality Chinese-funded enterprises.

Wang expressed hope that the dialogue mechanism would remain problem-oriented, focusing on the key difficulties faced by enterprises, such as labor permits, tax collection, and customs clearance facilitation. He also emphasized deeply exploring cooperation potential in infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture, the digital economy, and new energy fields to assist Cambodia's industrial diversification.

He stated that both sides should continue to make good use of the China-Cambodia public-private sector dialogue mechanism, accurately address corporate needs, actively promote the implementation of outcomes, and translate the consensus reached at the meeting into tangible results.

The China-Cambodia public-private sector dialogue mechanism meeting is held every six months. It is co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia and the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and organized by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia.
