YANGON, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar donated educational equipment to Basic Education High School (Nga Me Aing branch) in Hinthada township, Ayeyarwady region on Wednesday.
The donated items included solar equipment, information technology equipment, fans, lawnmowers and sports equipment.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, San Yu Maw, head of the Hinthada township's education bureau, thanked the Chinese embassy for its long-term care of and support for local education.
The school's headmistress Lwin Lwin Khaing presented a certificate of donation to the embassy and said the donated supplies perfectly met the school's needs.
Students from the school also expressed their interest in China, saying they wanted to learn more about the country and are willing to contribute to carrying forward the friendship between China and Myanmar through their future studies and personal growth.
Nearly 500 people, including officials from the two sides, attended the event. ■
