Pakistan's exports rise 7 pct in first 2 months of FY2026-27

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's exports increased 7.04 percent year on year to 5.46 billion U.S. dollars during the first two months of fiscal year 2026-27 (July-August), from 5.10 billion dollars in the same period last fiscal year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Thursday.

The merchandise trade deficit widened 18.11 percent year-on-year to 7.12 billion dollars in July-August, as imports rose 13.03 percent to 12.58 billion dollars, the PBS data showed.

The August merchandise trade figures are provisional, with additional customs data from the Federal Board of Revenue still awaited.
