KABUL, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- More than 1,750 Afghan refugees returned to their homeland Afghanistan in a single day on Monday, reported the official Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) on Tuesday night.
Among them, 1,449 returned from Pakistan and the remaining 306 refugees returned from Iran, RTA reported in its news bulletin.
Afghanistan has an estimated 6 million citizens living abroad, the vast majority in Iran and Pakistan, with a significant proportion lacking formal documentation. ■
