ISLAMABAD, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Three brothers were killed and another person injured in a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Sunday, police said.
The incident occurred in the Killi Bakhtair Khan area in Duki district when a pick-up truck carrying the victims was crossing a seasonal stream, Duki Senior Superintendent of Police Mansoor Ahmed Buzdar said in a statement.
"The three brothers and one of their relatives were travelling to their agricultural land when they met the fatal incident," Buzdar said, adding that the brothers died on the spot while their relative was injured.
Police said the blast was caused by a remotely controlled IED planted by unidentified attackers, which also destroyed the vehicle.
Police and security personnel rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and the injured to a district hospital, while an investigation into the incident is underway. ■
