NEW DELHI, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- India's index of industrial production (IIP) moderated to 6.7 percent during the month of July, from 7.3 percent in June, according to the official monthly data released by the federal Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation on Friday.
The IIP growth during July was "supported by a 7.3 percent growth in the manufacturing sector, and a strong growth of 8.7 percent in the electricity and gas supply sector," said the ministry in an official statement.
Within the manufacturing sector, the top three positive contributors were motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, electrical equipment, and machinery and equipment. ■
